The universal, High Strength Silica (HSS)-based bonded phase used for the ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 (1.8 µm particle size) and XSelect HSS T3 (2.5-5 µm particle size) sorbents is compatible with 100% aqueous mobile phase and should be your first choice when developing reversed-phase separations for polar compounds. Fully scalable from UPLC (1.8 µm particle)-HPLC (2.5-5 µm particle)-preparative OBD (5 µm particle) column formats, the HSS T3 packing is the most universal reversed-phase sorbent for polar compound retention. Atlantis T3 Columns

Atlantis T3 HPLC columns contain fully-porous silica-based, reversed-phase C₁₈ sorbents that display high retention and loading for highly polar compounds. The ability to inject high mass loads of polar compounds corresponds to less preparative runs, faster library screening and purification.

The intermediate ligand density of the Atlantis T3 sorbent provides an optimal balance between ligand coverage and a low concentration of residual surface silanols.  Traditional endcapping, for example, is not sufficient to reduce undesirable silanol activity with polar alkaline species. The proprietary T3 endcapping process allows for higher surface coverage compared to trimethyl silane (TMS) endcapping, which results in higher analyte retention while maintaining superior peak shape.
