The Waters Corporation (“Waters”) supports the goals of the People's Republic of China's "Management Methods for Controlling Pollution by Electronic Information Products" (“China RoHS” or “Order 39”) to control and reduce pollution to the environment and harms to human health arising during the production, sale and import of Electronic Information Products (“EIP”) in the People's Republic of China.
Waters is working to reduce the presence of lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr+6), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (“PBDE”) in its products below the concentration limits set forth in the standard with designation GB/T 26572-2011 issued to implement China RoHS.
China RoHS Product Markings & Disclosure Tables
Waters products that fall within the scope of China RoHS, and that are sold to customers in the People's Republic of China, include information on the appropriate pollution control logos consistent with the requirements of SJ/T 11364-2006 (Marking for Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products).
Substance content disclosure tables are available for in-scope Waters products that exceed China RoHS concentration limits and that are sold to customers in the People's Republic of China. As specified in GB/T 11364-2006, these tables generally indicate, by means of an “X,” where China RoHS-governed substances are present in such products above specified concentration limits set forth in GB/T 26572-2011.
Waters continues to monitor China RoHS regulatory developments with the aim of ensuring in-scope product conformity with new requirements as these requirements and related implementation guidance become clear and final.
