Separation and characterization of N-linked glycopeptides on hemagglutinins in a recombinant influenza vaccine
Finding and characterizing glycosylations on some proteins is difficult, especially when mass changes from modifications are small, such as in the case of deamidation. UPLC chromatography paired with MSE mass spectrometry is a powerful solution for separating and characterizing multiple glycopeptides in an influenza vaccine sample. MSE also provides useful structural information of glycan moieties from the glycan fragments, such as what types of sugars are attached to the proteins. Additionally, with automated data processing using BiopharmaLynx, end-to-end methods can be optimized for rapid and routine glycoprotein characterization.
