Why has certification testing become so important?

Advances in chromatography equipment and columns have resulted in lower detectable limits and most vials manufacturing has not kept pace with the need for very clean autosampler consumables. Waters has developed process handling protocols and QC procedures to ensure Waters Certified Vials meet their specified dimensions, levels of cleanlines, and adsorption properties. These rigorous 2-, 3-, and 4-step certification processes provide clean vials for the demands brought on by sensitive chromatography systems.

When cleanliness is a must: LC/GC Certified Vials

LC/GC Certified vials are tested by LC/UV for residues of chemicals used in processing and packaging vials. The septa are tested by headspace GC to ensure low levels of low molecular weight polymer. These vials are suited for analyte concentration in the µg/mL concentration; typically detectors like UV and RI.

zoom	For demanding MS work: LC/MS Certified Vials LC/MS Certified Vials are tested by MS scans from 250 to 1000 m/z with specifications set on the total ion count and presence of clusters in the high mass range. These vials are suited for analyte concentrations in the 100’s ng/mL concentration. Buy now

For ng/mL concentrations levels and lower: TruView LCMS Certified Vials

TruView LCMS Certified Vials are manufactured by a proprietary process that reduces analyte adsorption. The testing includes dimensions, LC/UV and MS cleanliness. In addition there is a high recovery of analyte test run at 1 ng/mL concentration using UPLC/MS/MS (MRM) and yield little adsorption. These vials exhibit the lowest adsorption of autosampler vials on the market.
