Light scattering is ideal for scientists that would like to consistently quantify a molecule’s size, size distribution, molecular weight, and conformation, all of which are intrinsically linked to the stability, efficacy, safety, and function of a molecule – whether it is biologic or a polymer.


MALS instruments are added to SEC, IEX, or AF4 separations for absolute determination of a protein, viral vector, or nanoparticle’s molar mass, size, conformation, titer and payload.

AF4 provides low-shear, size-based separations of biologic macromolecules and nanoparticles from 1 nm to 10 µm. It works with on-line MALS, DLS, UV, RI, fluorescence, and viscometry detectors.

This manual DLS Instrument can measure a protein, viral vector or nanoparticle’s size, polydispersity, concentration, and turbidity for aggregation, colloidal propensity and thermal stability studies.
