EU RoHS Statement
Directive 2011/65/EU on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) allows a maximum concentration value for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated biphenyl ethers (PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment supplied in the course of business for distribution, consumption or use in the EU.
Waters' instrumentation products fall within Category 8 ("medical devices") or Category 9 ("monitoring and control instruments including industrial monitoring and control instruments") of RoHS. Those Waters' products within Category 8 can more specifically be described as "in-vitro medical devices" (as defined in the Directive), whilst those within Category 9 can more specifically be described as "industrial monitoring and control instruments." RoHS has applied to Category 8 products since July 22, 2016 and to Category 9 products since July 22, 2017.
The following Waters instrumentation products comply with the RoHS directive's requirements:
- Instruments sold to customers located in European Union or European Free Trade Association nations
- Instruments bearing the "CE" mark that have been manufactured since the aforementioned dates
