Solving Problems for the Next Generation

I’ve worked at Waters for over 15 years and one of the best things about working at this company is the focus we have on improving human health and well-being. Our people, tools, and technology ensure the safety of the water we drink, the quality of the medicine we take, and protect the environment from “forever chemicals” that can be harmful to humans. I am proud to work for a company that is forward-thinking and tackling unique challenges on our path to a more sustainable future.  By the time my own children are driving, electric vehicles will be mainstream, and Waters will have played a role in making that happen.

I am proud to work for a company that is forward-thinking and tackling unique challenges on our path to a more sustainable future.  By the time my own children are driving, electric vehicles will be mainstream, and Waters will have played a role in making that happen.

I recently had the opportunity to bring my son to the final presentations for Waters Student Academy. During the students’ time with us, they each had the opportunity to research and explore solutions to impurities in drinking water. They conducted a series of experiments to study and analyze the effects of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) before they presented their findings and possible solutions to their peers and Waters mentors.  It was a fantastic chance for me to see how much the students learned, while I also appreciated being able to share with my son how Waters has a real-world impact. The experience allowed me, once again, to step back and appreciate the great work Waters continues to do every day.

As we continue to think about our global impact as a company, I’m happy to share an update on our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals below.

The Waters Impact: Leaving the World Better Than We Found It

The recent release of our 2022 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report demonstrates a continued commitment to leaving the world better than we found it. The pursuit of the goals outlined in this report remains a top priority for our company and this year’s edition reflects both our current focus areas and future ambitions.

In 2021, the onboarding of a new leadership team brought a fresh perspective to our ESG approach at Waters and elevated our activities across the globe to focus on these crucial efforts. I had the privilege of leading an internal team to help drive cross-functional alignment on our ESG objectives and led a materiality assessment to help us better understand our current state and target aspirations. The steadfast commitment to sustainability at Waters is underscored by our focus on solving problems that matter; developing a workforce that is representative of the society we live in; and enabling each Waters employee to make a unique and positive contribution.
